California Labor History is a project funded in part by the National Endowment for the Humanities to enable users to explore key events in the state’s labor history that have affected the lives of working people. Electric Prism was contracted by the San Francisco State University and the California State Library to develop the multimedia application. I designed and programmed the application in Director Shockwave. The application features over 1200 key events - in addition to detailed short essays describing the larger historical context - and may be explored by location, date, or text search.
