I am a standards-based web application developer with over 12 years of professional experience in the field of internet and multimedia. My experience has shown me that successful web developers all share a common foundation, consisting of the following:
- An understanding of information architecture on the web.
- Comprehensive knowledge of SEO and accessibility, and how the two overlap on the web.
- Comprehensive knowledge of XML and semantic XHTML.
- Mastery of CSS and DOM.
- Mastery of Javascript and its implementation on the web.
- Working knowledge of multiple server-side scripting languages.
- Background in usability and user-centered design.
- A good eye for design.

Metodus is a standards-based web development company specializing in user-centered design principals and methods. My work at Metodus has been a mix of strategic and production oriented roles. On the strategic side I have documented information architecture, user interaction with UML and information design as wireframes. On the production side I have worked in the full gamut of web application development: from interface design and programming in standards-based XHTML, CSS and Javascript; to rich internet applications with AJAX; and server-side development with LAMP technologies and MVC frameworks. Clients have included mostly large businesses, charities and tourism related enterprises local to Costa Rica.

Grupo EZ was the collective name of a trio of companies that produced desktop and internet applications in a Java-based development environment. I worked primarily in the development of multimedia applications in Director and Shockwave. Clients included corporate enterprises local to Costa Rica: ICE - Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad, Condo Roble and REDCOM among others.

Zoecom was an internet startup specializing in high profile websites and applications. Over the course of two years I completed several mixed multimedia assignments including 3D animation in Lightwave and application development in Director and Shockwave. Clients included Compaq Computers and various celebrities such as Ricky Martin, the Beatles and Pope John Paul II.

Electric Prism is a new media design company offering a broad range of technology-based services. I began work with Electric Prism digitally coloring Silver Surfer comics, and over the years expanded my portfolio to include: 3D modeling and animation, Quicktime VR, image morphing, video compositing, typography, pre-press in Quark and Illustrator, Flash, HTML and application development in Director and Shockwave. Clients included businesses and organizations of all sizes.
